After having to cancel our last schedule meeting due to the recent 5-day lockdown today’s meeting was very well attended by members and guests. It was great to see everyone and there was quite a ‘buzz’ in the room. Today our guest speaker was Lee Smith, Regional Manager of Southern Ports who presented a very interesting talk around Bunbury Port, its current situation re trading activities and ship arrivals, particularly with the management of Covid and future plans for the Port.

The talk was enlightening and led to a number of interesting questions from members. Participants were encouraged to complete their community survey in order to provide feedback in terms of where we, as members of the community, see the use of the Port facility going forward.

Information flyers from Jasmina Krso of ‘Everymind’ was also discussed. This is part of a national Federal Government sponsored program of support for small business owners in terms of mental health and resilience as Bunbury is one of the chosen locations for delivery of support. This includes free online workshops and other opportunities for involvement and to tell ‘your’ story.

Our next meeting will be held on the 5th March.
