Josh Oakey Reveals Lessons from the Blue Zones

Today’s meeting had a great turnout with the welcome return of long-time member now Bernie Member Garry Birch. Thanks were given to Herman Stoltenbarg for organising a fantastic ‘Sundowner’ for members and partners at ‘Waters Edge’ where the quality of the food and hospitality shown by Proprietor Tammy Bubb was duly recognised.

The general feeling amongst Club Members with regard to the current business climate in Bunbury has become much more optimistic of late. A number of members commented on there being a noticeable ‘positive vibe’ about the City with some very positive movements within the local real Estate Market as noted by Digby Shepherd. General congratulations were given to Shaun Brodison and the team at Aussie Bunbury for carrying off the State Award for the largest volume of brokered loans, surely another indication of some much-needed buoyancy within the local market after a long and sustained downturn.

Today’s Guest Speaker was Josh Oakey from Inspired Results. Josh’s talk however was quite a personal one. Participants were invited to ‘travel with purpose’ and to ‘live with purpose’ and Josh’s talk amply illustrated the points he was making in he and his family’s travels and experiences in ‘community’ in one of the world’s ‘blue zones’ where people are noted for their longevity in years and their maintenance of a genuine ‘zest for life’. The talk was very well received and the message certainly went home.

Our next meeting on the 6th March will culminate with a workshop delivered by Chris Sylvester from Brandicoot on utilising MailChimp and e marketing so this will be another great session not to be missed.
